"Our son is a beautiful, gentle soul. Karate is a wonderful way for him to develop confidence, resilience and persistence in larger sports and social groups."
"Levi started his karate journey 2 years ago at age 4. In this time we have watched him grow and thrive. Karate has helped him with his self confidence and also given him the ability to follow instruction ad discipline. We as parents have loved the journey so far and are very thankful for the time and dedication that the HVMAC team give to each and every child they teach."
"Karate has been a massive part of Jack's life for nearly 3 years. He has benefited immensely in regards to his emotional development, confidence, self discipline and self control. He has grown into a delightful young man as a result of his time with HVMAC. The values he has been taught have set him up to strive forward in life and face his challenges head on. Thank you so much Hunter Valley Martial Arts Centre."
“My son has definitely benefited from martial arts- it has increased his physical confidence and spatial awareness. It has increased his ability to focus and be quiet internally whilst being dynamic externally. It gives him the gifts of self discipline and respect. It allows him to set goals, work towards them then asses how he is moving towards that goal. Best of all it has shown him time and time again the positive affect that committed physical activity has on your physical mental and emotional wellbeing. In times of stress or overwhelm the classes at HVMAC make all the difference. Having been to a different centre before now we appreciate the thoroughness and the friendly atmosphere. The knowledge that is imparted during the grading is wonderful. The Sensei teaches from a holistic perspective- a whole body approach- feeling into what they are doing, what is behind it rather than just doing the movement for the sake of it. Awesome dojo. Great teachers. Wonderful Instruction.”
“Jayden’s self-confidence has improved dramatically. He is more confident and self-aware. He can be a very shy and timid boy, but we have found since starting karate with HVMA 12 months ago he can control his fears and vulnerability so much better. He often stand “strong” to centre himself and calm down when upset or overwhelmed and I love that you have and are helping my little bow grow into a respectable, strong young man. The values you teach at your centre are to be thought of highly. Jayden loves coming to Karate. He often tells me his training days are his favourite days of the week. He did struggle with his last kata but his word were “I think this kata is really hard Mum, but you know what? I’m no going to let it beat me…” I couldn’t be more proud standing here today watching him grade to his next belt.”
“My child, Sam, started karate this year and it has had a very positive affected on his school performance as well as his fitness. His teacher has remarked on his improvement since beginning martial arts and we were thrilled with this end of year report card. This has also been the first year Sam has not required speech and occupational therapy, so it has been a very beneficial experience. Thank you!”
“Ari’s confidence is growing each time he attends a class. We are so impressed with the professionalism and encouragement provided by the school. I have been singing the center’s praises to anyone who will listen as there are so many thing children can benefit from regardless of the type of the type of child they are. We can’t wait to see just what Ari can achieve with his new skills and goals! Thank you.” – Bianca Menz
My son has been attending HVMAC for 6 months now. He has shown great improvements in focus and impulse control. As a 7 year old he also benefits by developing his self-confidence and has continued to excel at school. Max has also been recognized at his school for showing and understanding the concept of respect for others. HVMAC has shown him, not just karate, but great social responsibility
