Green Hills Open Day Sunday Sessions

Sensei Taj began training in January of 2011. He was first awarded Black Belt in June of 2014. He attained his 3rd degree Black belt and the rank of Shidoin (senior Instructor) in June of 2020.

Sensei Taj also holds a 3rd Degree Black belt in Okinawan Kobudo as well as a 3rd Degree Black belt in our FightFit program.

9am – 9:45am = XTREME Fun Taster Class

Description:

Learn the fundamentals of the Xtreme program, a Martial Arts style that combines karate and gymnastics. The program aims to improve core strength, flexibility, coordination, self confidence, self discipline, and creativity. Available for ages 6+.

10am – 10:30 = Rolling workshop

Description:

Learn the basics to rolling safely. Improve core strength and coordination, overcome nervousness of rolling, with traditional Martial Arts rolling drills and techniques.

10:30 – 11am = Breakfalling and Throwing Fundamentals

Description:

Learn how to fall safely, growing your confidence to be able to keep yourself safe if thrown, and to better defend yourself on the ground. Also learn the graceful art of traditional Chitokai karate throwing technique, working in harmony with your training partner to be able to execute take downs.

11 – 11:30 = Bo Basics

Description:

Learn traditional bo staff weaponry. Basic block, strikes, and bo exercises and techniques.

11:30 – 12 = Arnis Workshop

Description:

Explore the traditional filipino art of stick fighting. Learn basic blocks, strikes, disarms and counters.

12 – 12:30 = Fightfit Self defence clinic

Description:

Hunter Fight Fit is a Muay Thai based fitness program that has practical self defence sets. Through repetition these practical self defence can make you feel more confident to be able to instinctively defend yourself against habitual acts of violence.

12:30 – 1 = Knife Defenses

Description:

Learn basic self defence sets to be able to block a knife attack safely while avoided getting cut. We always practice only with rubber knives. Learn how to block, disarm, and then counter or control the other person until help arrives. Grow your confidence in being able to defend yourself against an attacker with a knife or similar weapon.
