Waratah Open Day Sunday Sessions

Sensei Abi started karate in 1999. She attained her 4th degree black belt in 2019 and 2nd degree black belt in Matayoshi Kobudo in 2022. She has been teaching Martial Arts at HVMAC since 2006 and specifically at Waratah dojo since it opened in 2014, is NCAS Bronze level coaching accredited and has her Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness (Martial Arts specific).

9:30am Xtreme Fun

Description:
Learn some kicking and gymnastical tricking. Develop core strength, balance, flexibility, self confidence and discipline with this creative and fun gymnastical martial art program. Suitable from ages 6+.

10:00am Bo Basics

Description:
Introduction to traditional bo staff used in Okinawan Weaponry. Basic bo skills, blocking and striking. Suitable from ages 6+.

10:30am Arnis Basics

Description:
Introduction to traditional Filipino stick fighting. Basic block, strikes, disarms and counters. Suitable for ages 6+, under 9’s encouraged to bring an adult training partner.

11:00am Beginner Kata Class

Description:
Learn the beauty, grace, rigour and practicality of traditional Chitokai kata. All levels welcome (Ages 6+).

11:30am Beginner Bunkai Class

Description:
Learn the effectiveness of the practical self defence applications from traditional Chitokai kata. All levels welcome (Ages 6+).
